AKC-Aligned Curriculum
Cape Fear Community College is proud to partner with Groom Curriculum to offer a hands-on Dog Grooming Program designed to prepare students for the AKC
Professional Groomer Credential (AKC-PGC) — the most recognized credential in the grooming industry.
Upon completion, students will be fully prepared to sit for the AKC-PGC exam and step confidently into the professional pet grooming industry.
What to Expect
The CFCC Dog Grooming Program is a 6-month workforce training program. Students attend class twice a week at our on-campus salon. After students meet safety and skill requirements, they will gain hands-on experience grooming client dogs. In addition to 200 in-person hours, students complete 100 hours of online work from Groom Curriculum’s comprehensive, AKC-aligned coursework and practical training.
