NC Asynchronous Insurance Pre-Licensing Courses

Cape Fear Community College offers asynchronous pre-licensing classes in life, health, medicare supplement/long term care, as well as property and casualty.

Asynchronous Pre-Licensing Courses

These courses are designed for students that would like to take their class when it’s most convenient for them. They can be done whenever and wherever is most convenient for you. All of these courses are taught using pre-recorded videos from IES, plus you will be able to contact and chat with your instructor throughout the duration of the course. The course will expire when one of the following events occur:

  1. Students pass the pre-licensing exam
  2. Students can take the final exam up to a maximum of 5 attempts (pass or fail)  
  3. 60 days after purchase.

Life Insurance Only (20 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Life Insurance Agents Examination.

Costs: $70 Registration Fee and $135 non-refundable materials, book, and technology fee (Total $210)


Health (Health and Accident or Sickness) Only (20 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Health and Accident or Sickness Insurance Agents Examination.

Costs:$70 Registration Fee and $135 non-refundable materials, book, and technology fee (Total $210)


Life and Health (Health and Accident or Sickness) Insurance (40 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Life and Health and Accident or Sickness Insurance Agents Examinations.

Costs: $125 Registration Fee and $220 non-refundable materials, book, and technology fee ($350 total)


Medicare Supplement and Long-Term Care (10 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Medicare Supplement/Long Term Care Insurance Agents Examination.

(Students must have also taken the Health (Health and Accident or Sickness) to be eligible to take this course.)

Costs: $70 Registration Fee and $100 non-refundable Materials and Book Fee ($170 total)


Property Insurance Pre-licensing Course (20 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Property Insurance Agents Examination.

Costs: $70 Registration Fee and $135 non-refundable materials, book, and technology fee (Total $210)


Casualty Insurance Pre-licensing Course (20 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Casualty Insurance Agents Examination.

Costs: $70 Registration Fee and $135 non-refundable materials, book, and technology fee (Total $210)


Property and Casualty Insurance Pre-licensing Course (40 hours)

This course is designed to prepare students for the North Carolina State Property and Casualty Insurance Agents Examinations.

Costs: $125 Registration Fee and $220 non-refundable materials, book, and technology fee (Total $350)
