PCS Presents CFCC President with Proclamation for Outstanding Partnership
BURGAW, NC – Pender County Schools (PCS) is proud to announce the recognition of Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) President Jim Morton for his exceptional commitment to the partnership between PCS and CFCC. During the September 12, 2023 Pender County Schools Board of Education meeting, a proclamation was read and presented by Board Chair Ken Smith, celebrating the invaluable collaboration between the two institutions.
“Cape Fear Community College is proud of our partnership with Pender County Schools,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Our collaboration allows CFCC to reach middle and high school students to provide them with a clear pathway to further their education or get the training to begin a fulfilling career. We recognize the transition from secondary to post-secondary education can be a pivotal moment in a student’s life, and our partnership ensures that this transition is seamless and supportive.”

The proclamation highlights CFCC’s “Pathway to Careers” program, which provides essential support to Pender County high school seniors as they embark on their post-secondary journeys. Additionally, CFCC’s expansion of electrical apprenticeship courses to local high schools addresses crucial workforce needs, empowering students with essential skills for future success.
