Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the officially recognized organization authorized by the administration to represent the student body at Cape Fear Community College. As a democratic organization, the SGA elects its officers annually. The SGA is supported by the State Board of Community Colleges, the CFCC Board of Trustees, and the College’s administration, faculty, and staff.
Institutional support for student governance is demonstrated through formal student representation in shared governance structures. SGA representatives serve on standing College committees that are responsible for annually reviewing institutional policies and recommending improvements.
The SGA actively serves as the voice of the student body and facilitates open communication between students and College leadership. Through participation in student governance, students gain practical experience in leadership, civic responsibility, and institutional decision-making.
