I love languages. I am trilingual in Korean, German, and English and have basic knowledge of French and Latin. I teach German because I developed my love for reading and writing while reading and writing in German. I still get goosebumps reciting the poems from that time! I strive to bring this sense of beauty and wonder to my students.

French is my native language. I love French because it’s the language of cooking, fashion, dance, visual arts, and architecture. It’s spoken by 300 million people on the five continents. It’s the language of the two cities where the European Union institutions are headquartered: Strasbourg and Brussels. But more than anything, it is a beautiful language.

I love teaching Spanish because the US is on track to become the country with the most Spanish speakers, and I want to be a part of helping students add another tool to their belt. I want to help students use the language skills they acquire in my classroom to connect with Spanish speakers as a way to build community and to learn just how similar we all are as human beings, as well as appreciate their cultural uniqueness. The Latino culture is extremely colorful in their traditions, *especially* in their cooking – ¡delicioso!

I love Spanish because, despite its overall simplicity, the phonetics are beautiful, and the language is very dynamic and changes constantly. Spanish also has many rules that are easy to learn, unlike English, which is kind of a nightmare to learn as a second language. Finally, Latino music is the best music on the planet, no matter the genre.
