CFCC offers evening courses for Chemical Technology program
Wilmington, NC — Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is excited to launch a new evening option for the Chemical Technology program beginning this fall. This option will provide flexible learning opportunities for working students and adult learners.
The Chemical Technology program offers both a two-year associate program and a diploma. Students in this program go through an intensive curriculum to train as analytical technicians for multiple industries, including pharmaceutical, environmental, forensics, food/beverage, quality control, cosmetics, chemical production, or research and development. Unique to North Carolina, the program provides training focusing on equipment and instrumentation commonly found in a laboratory setting. No course prerequisites are required.
“Offering night classes in our Chemical Technology program helps students balance their education with work and family commitments,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “This flexibility is crucial for allowing more people to enhance their skills and pursue higher-paying jobs in this dynamic industry. Chemical Technology is a rapidly growing field, offering numerous career opportunities locally and nationwide.”
New Hanover County and the surrounding area are home to several employers requiring skilled laboratory technicians. CFCC graduates are currently working with several local employers, including Quality Chemical Laboratories, Environmental Chemists, Portrett Pharmaceuticals, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA), Alcami, Southern Analytics, American Chrome and Chemical, and many more.
Enrollment for the Chemical Technology Program is now open. For more information on the program, visit cfcc.edu/chemical-technology/ . To apply, visit cfcc.edu.
