CFCC Student Veteran to Transfer Seamlessly to Penn State
CFCC student veteran Bianca Montanez will graduate CFCC this May with an Associate in Science and will continue her education at Penn State University this summer. Originally from New York, Montanez and her husband made the move to North Carolina in 2019 after her husband was stationed at Camp Lejeune. When Montanez began thinking about where to pursue her education and doing some online research, she decided CFCC was the college for her. She never looked back.
“My experience at CFCC has been amazing. All the staff and faculty are so friendly and supportive. They really do care about you. It made the transition from New York to here so much easier.”
Montanez and her husband welcomed their first son in November of 2020, and she was so grateful CFCC offered the convenience of online classes.
“I was so pleased with my experience at CFCC, my husband decided to follow suit and will begin at CFCC this summer.”
Montanez plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree online at Penn State University in business administration with a concentration in accounting with hopes to be a financial or budget analyst. “I have always enjoyed working with numbers. I have a passion for budgeting and financing, and I want to share that passion to help others achieve financial success.”
Montanez said she would recommend CFCC to anyone pursuing a college education. “Never be afraid to ask for help. I was hesitant at first, but I am so glad I did. Use the resources CFCC offers to get you through. The advisors at CFCC set me up for success. Because of their guidance in helping me select classes, all of the courses I have taken at CFCC are transferring to Penn State. I am so grateful for the many people who helped and supported me during my time at CFCC.”
