CFCC to host Marine Careers Day on May 1
Wilmington, NC – The marine industry is rapidly growing, offering exciting career opportunities for those passionate about the water and the world beneath it. To help inspire and educate the next generation of marine industry workers, Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is proud to host Marine Careers Day. This one-of-a-kind event invites students and the public to explore many career paths available.
Marine Careers Day will occur on Monday, May 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Galehouse Building on CFCC’s downtown campus (415 N. Front Street, Wilmington). Visitors will have the chance to meet and interact with instructors and students from CFCC’s Marine Technology, Outboard Motors, and Boat Building programs. Participants can also take a guided tour of the R/V Cape Hatteras, a 135-foot research vessel owned and operated by Cape Fear Community College.
“As a community college, we are committed to providing opportunities for our students and the community to explore a variety of career pathways,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “Hosting a marine careers day allows us to showcase the many exciting and diverse careers available in the marine industry. By bringing together experts from these fields, we hope to inspire and educate the next generation of marine professionals.”
