CFCC’s Food Pantry Holds Special Spring Holiday Food Distribution to Support CFCC Community in Need

Wilmington, NC — Cape Fear Community College’s Food Pantry— Ray’s Tray, held a special spring holiday food distribution this week. Thanks to the overwhelming support of student and employee volunteers, the CFCC Foundation, CFCC’s Baking & Pastry Arts program, and Salty Chic Boutique, the food pantry gave away 60 turkeys and baskets to help CFCC students, faculty, and staff in need.

“Being part of Ray’s Trays has been a great way for us to be a part of something bigger,” said CFCC student volunteer Eric Donner. “To see the entire CFCC community come together to help those in need has truly been an amazing experience.”

“There are a lot of people affected by COVID-19 and who have simply run into hard times,” said Lori from Salty Chic Boutique. “It is important to preserve their spirits by helping out when we can.”

The CFCC Food Pantry— Ray’s Tray, exists to provide temporary supplemental food relief to CFCC students, faculty, and staff at no cost and remove barriers associated with food insecurity. In addition to helping alleviate hunger within our CFCC community, the CFCC Food Pantry aims to reduce the impact that food insecurity has on the academic success of our students.
