Students applying to our selective Health Sciences programs start by completing the General Admissions process. Once completed, students are eligible to begin the Selective Health Sciences Enrollment process as outlined below.
First, complete your North Carolina Residency Determination. This establishes whether you’ll pay in-state or out-of-state tuition. Once completed, you will be assigned a Residency Certification Number (RCN). Save this number! You’ll need it for the CFCC admission application.
We recommend you have access to the following information before you start your residency:
If you are under the age of 25, you will most likely need to complete residency with a parent or legal guardian.

Need access to a computer, scanner, or fax machine? Visit CFCC’s Enrollment Center at the downtown campus.
If your residency tuition classification changes and you need CFCC to update your student record, please email residency@cfcc.edu . Remember to include your RCN number in any correspondence.

For students that have applied to or have taken classes at CFCC before: your application has to be active. If you have not attended classes at CFCC for one year or longer, you must reapply and be accepted prior to filing an Intent to Apply into any of CFCC’s selective health sciences. Once your application is received, it will be processed within one week. If you need to apply or reapply:

Request official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended and submit them to the CFCC’s Registrar’s Office by mail or an approved electronic method. These will be reviewed for possible transfer credit.
Official college/university transcripts should be sent to the attention of the Registrar’s Office whether electronically or by postal mail. If sending postal mail, please send to:

Complete the FAFSAMeet the minimum eligibility requirements as outlined in the program information packets. If you need assistance in determining whether you meet minimum requirements, you are encouraged to complete our Intent Eligibility form .
See Health Science ProgramsMeet with your assigned Health Education Advisor (see below) to plan and register for any remaining general education courses that are part of your program(s) of interest.
File your Intent to Apply electronically through the appropriate Health Science program webpage during the appropriate application period. Make sure to complete all required fields/areas all the way to the end of the form.
See Health Science ProgramsThe staff of the CFCC Health Science Enrollment Center will audit your Intent to Apply. If your Intent is successful, i.e. all eligibility requirements are met, you will receive an email with the “Next Steps” in your CFCC email account. Students who file an Intent to Apply and do not meet the minimum requirements will receive an email addressing the missing items. Once eligible, they may re-file their Intent. Applicants must file the Intent to Apply prior to the last day of the application period.
