Next Steps

You’ve completed the admissions process, now it’s time to enroll. Here’s what you need to do.

STEP 1 Determine if You Need Placement Testing

Placement testing determines your academic readiness to take college-level English or math courses — or your readiness to take other classes that require English or math proficiency.

Please note: If you are applying for the Fall 2020 term, please follow these assessment guidelines .

Important Note: Placement testing does not determine your eligibility to attend CFCC.

STEP 2 Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Newsflash: You don’t have to pay for college alone. CFCC awards thousands of scholarships each year. The first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Things to keep in mind:

  • The CFCC school Code is 005320
  • If you need help completing your FAFSA, CFCC hosts FAFSA Nights with staff on hand to help you complete your application.

STEP 3 New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation— your guide to starting successfully at CFCC! New freshman and transfer students attending CFCC for the first time must attend an orientation session prior to registering for courses. New student orientation is the launching pad for your time at CFCC and where you will receive vital information and resources needed to be successful during your time as a student.

Your student portal is called MyCFCC. It’s the gateway to your student email and a variety of other important tools.

STEP 5 See an Academic Advisor and Register

Connect with CFCC’s Academic Advising Center for assistance with registration and course selection, or to talk about what career path might be right for you.
