  • Apartment Maintenance Technician

    Meet the training requirement for certification as an apartment maintenance technician. There are seven training modules: 1) Inside the Apartment Business, 2) People, Projects and Profits, 3) Electrical Maintenance and Repair, 4) Plumbing Maintenance and Repair, 5) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair, 6) Appliance Maintenance and Repair, and 7) Interior and Exterior Maintenance and Repair.

  • Auto Safety

    This course is designed to prepare auto technicians to be able to inspect automobiles made prior to 1996 for the State of North Carolina. Course topics include regulations and test inspection procedures required by the NC DMV. Upon completion, a student should understand the rules, regulations, and procedures for inspections and able to inspect a vehicle properly and be prepared to sit for the state certification exam.

  • Dog Grooming

    The Cape Fear Community College Dog Grooming program is designed to teach students introductory aspects of pet grooming. Introduction to Dog Grooming teaches students basic grooming techniques that will be useful in student’s dog grooming careers and/or with their own dog. This course is an entry-level course preparing students for further training and/or to begin grooming their own dog(s).

  • Fire Alarm Systems Training

    Fire Alarm Systems Training is a program to produce competent and qualified individuals. It is our belief that properly trained and knowledgeable fire alarm system designers and technicians will reduce the losses due to fire or false alarms and improve the quality of life in their community.

  • Fleet Maintenance Technician

Students will be prepared to take the GIS Fundamentals Foundation 2201 Technical Certificate from Esri.

Upon completion, a student should understand the rules, regulations, and procedures for OBD emission inspections, be able to inspect a vehicle properly and be prepared to sit for the state certification exam.

    CFCC has partnered with Yamaha Marine University for this unique, 13-week course which provides instruction on the core skills used by mechanics for marine outboard systems. Students can expect to learn the basics of boating, fuel system components, outboard electrical systems, as well as a fundamental understanding of the marine industry, and marine service careers.

This course covers weather, navigation, instruments, preflight planning, computer and wind triangles, regulations, radio communications, the aviation field, and history to prepare for safe piloting.   • Truck Driver Training (Pre-Apprenticeship)

    Want to travel the country and get paid for it? The Truck Driver Training program will prepare you to drive tractor-trailer rigs and teach you the basic practices for operating commercial vehicles.

    Truck Driver Training prepares individuals to drive tractor-trailers rigs. This program teaches proper driving procedures, safe driver responsibility, commercial motor vehicle laws and regulations, and the basic principles and practices for operating commercial vehicles.

  • Wastewater Treatment Operator

    Water and wastewater treatment plant and system operators are responsible for: Collecting and analyzing water samples, documenting findings and implementing solutions, and inspecting and repairing equipment. Upon completion, this course will prepare participants for the NC Biological Grade I and II* North Carolina Water Pollution Control System Operator’s Certification Commission Exam (WPCSOCC).

  • Welding

    The program consists of four courses in the specialized classroom and practical hands-on training in the laboratory. Through Welding Fundamentals, MIG, Stick, and TIG, welding students are equipped with the skills the field requires. Students will learn skills and gain the knowledge needed to enter the field of welding in industrial, manufacturing, and welding shop environments.
